How the five-day offer works.

The clock starts when your complete file is ready and you’re in Panama.

  1. Eligibility reviewed

    Our legal team confirms the Pensionado pathway fits your circumstances. The questionnaire alone does not confirm eligibility.

  2. Complete file accepted

    Your required documents are ready and checked, including pension evidence, background records and required apostilles or translations.

  3. Available for appointments

    You are in Panama and available for the required appointments. We coordinate the steps and provide bilingual assistance.

  4. Day one is the next business day

    Counting starts on the next Panama business day after complete-file drop-off and the conditions above are met. Weekends and Panamanian public holidays do not count.

  5. Extraordinary events pause the clock

    These terms exclude delays caused by force majeure, such as earthquakes, natural disasters or emergency government closures that prevent processing. Ordinary processing delays do not automatically qualify. Any pause and revised deadline must be explained in writing.

If your official processing card is not delivered within the five-business-day window, you get 100% of everything you paid Sunset Living back. This covers the full payment, including all package fees and any add-ons paid to us.

Processing card ≠ permanent residency

The offer covers the official immigration processing card (Carné de Trámite). Final permanent residency is a separate milestone. Other package services follow their own timelines.

Your signed agreement sets out the start date, offer conditions and refund steps.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you make the move.

Can I qualify on a small pension?

The usual rule is at least $1,000 a month from a pension paid for life. That can include Social Security. Our legal team checks your proof before you start.

Can my spouse apply with me?

Yes. Married couples may use both pensions to meet the income rule. Your papers and income needs depend on how you apply. Our legal team checks the right route for you.

What if I only have savings or wages?

Those alone are not the same as a pension paid for life. Still take the call if you are not sure. We can check whether another route fits.

Can I start before I move?

Yes. Get your papers ready from home first. Then come to Panama for the visits you need. Your case lead helps plan the timing.

Will I have surprise fees?

Your quote lists what is covered. The standard Panama fees in your package are included. Papers from home, add-ons and living costs are separate. You agree to any extras first.

What papers do I need?

A passport, proof of your pension and police records are key. A spouse needs marriage papers, too. Some papers need an apostille or consular stamp. We give you a clear list. Your local medical papers are handled.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

No. Your package includes English and Spanish help at required visa visits. You can ask your Sunset Living team questions in either language.

Is health cover part of my package?

No. The local medical certificate for your file is included. Health insurance and your day-to-day care are separate. Plan those costs as part of your move.

Is my final residency done in five days?

No. The five-day offer is for your processing card. Your file is still in progress at this point. Final residency comes later. You must have a full, checked file and be in Panama for the clock to start. See when the clock starts.

What if my card takes longer?

If we miss the five-day deadline, you get 100% of everything you paid Sunset Living back. That includes your full package payment and any add-ons paid to us. See the conditions and exceptions.
